Position Overview:
The Volunteer Coordinator will be responsible for recruiting, training, and managing volunteers for the Aussie Open Disc Golf Event. This role involves ensuring that volunteers are well-prepared, motivated, and effectively utilized to enhance the event experience for participants and spectators. It offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain experience in volunteer management and event coordination within a dynamic and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Volunteer Recruitment:

Develop and implement strategies to recruit volunteers from various sources, including local communities, schools, and disc golf clubs.
Create and distribute promotional materials to attract volunteers.
Training and Orientation:

Organize and conduct training sessions and orientation meetings for volunteers.
Provide clear instructions and guidelines to ensure volunteers understand their roles and responsibilities.
Volunteer Management:

Assign volunteers to specific roles and tasks based on their skills and interests.
Supervise and support volunteers during the event, addressing any issues or concerns that arise.
Ensure volunteers are recognized and appreciated for their contributions.
Scheduling and Coordination:

Develop and manage volunteer schedules to ensure adequate coverage for all event activities.
Coordinate with other event staff to integrate volunteer support seamlessly into event operations.
Communication:

Serve as the primary point of contact for volunteers, providing regular updates and information.
Maintain open lines of communication to address volunteer questions and feedback.
Administrative Tasks:

Maintain accurate records of volunteer applications, assignments, and hours worked.
Prepare reports on volunteer activities and outcomes for the Event Manager.
Qualifications:
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to lead, motivate, and manage a diverse group of volunteers.
Experience in volunteer management or event coordination is preferred.
Passion for sports and community engagement, with an interest in disc golf.
Flexible schedule with the ability to work evenings and weekends as required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other basic computer applications.
