Position Overview:

The Event Assistant Manager will play a crucial role in supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of the Aussie Open Disc Golf Event. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in event management, contribute to the success of a world-class sporting event, and be a part of a dynamic and passionate team. This position is ideal for individuals looking to gain experience in the sports and events industry, including students, recent graduates, or enthusiastic volunteers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Event Planning Support:
    • Assist in the development and implementation of event plans and schedules.
    • Coordinate with vendors, sponsors, and partners to ensure all logistics are in place.
    • Help with the setup and breakdown of event venues, ensuring all areas meet the required standards.
  • Volunteer Coordination:
    • Assist in recruiting, training, and managing event volunteers.
    • Ensure volunteers are informed of their roles and responsibilities and provide on-site support during the event.
  • Marketing and Communications:
    • Support marketing efforts by creating content for social media, newsletters, and other communication channels.
    • Assist in promoting the event to local and international audiences.
  • On-Site Event Management:
    • Help oversee event activities, ensuring everything runs smoothly and addressing any issues that arise.
    • Provide excellent customer service to participants, spectators, and VIPs.
  • Administrative Tasks:
    • Handle various administrative duties such as data entry, managing event supplies, and maintaining records.
    • Support the Event Manager with any additional tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Passion for sports and events, with a particular interest in disc golf.
  • Basic knowledge of social media platforms and marketing techniques.
  • Flexible schedule with the ability to work evenings and weekends as required.
  • Previous experience in event management or a related field is a plus, but not required.
