The Aussie Open has once again been announced as a qualifying event for the prestigious United States Disc Golf Championship (USDGC). The 2017 USDGC will be played this year from October 4th – 7th at the fabled Winthrop Gold course in Rock Hill, South Carolina.  In 2017 the USDGC will also once again double as the Disc Golf World Tour Championship. We are also excited to announce that the 2017 Aussie Open will be a qualifying event for the United States Amateur Disc Golf Championship (USADGC).  The USADGC is one of the world’s biggest events for Amateur players, and it will once again be played at the highly rated Toboggan course in Michigan on June 2-4.  The top finishing players in the MA1 division at the Aussie Open will qualify for this renowned event.

Pro Women’s Division Heats Up

Pro women’s division the Women’s Open division at the 2017 Aussie Open will feature some of the highest rated players from the US, Japan and Australia competing for the Aussie Open title. Never before has Australia seen a women’s disc golf division of this calibre.

Pro women’s division among this talented field of players you will find world champions, world distance record holders and National Tour event winners, including Americans Paige Pierce, Des Reading, Madison Walker and Jennifer Allen.

2017 World Tour Begins Down Under

The 2017 Aussie Open will be the first stop on the 2017 Disc Golf World Tour (DGWT).  In 2016 the DGWT raised the bar for disc golf tournaments in its inaugural season.  With professional reporting, informative statistics, and detailed tournament coverage, the Disc Golf World Tour is pushing the sport of disc golf towards the level of many other professional sports. We are very excited that the Men’s Open division of the 2017 Aussie Open will be a part of the DGWT.

2017 World TourFeature a total of four tournaments in 2017, three of which will be PDGA Majors.  The Aussie Open will kick off the Tour on January 26th – 29th, followed by the Konopiste Open, the European Open (Major), and the United States Disc Golf Championship (Major).
